Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race - Surf Coast Classic

A new Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race (CEGORR) is coming to the Colac and Surf Coast region on Thursday 25 January 2024. The 156km Surf Coast Classic Men’s Elite Race is part of the overall CEGORR weekend of world class cycling. A field of 100 pro-cyclists will start in Lorne at 11.00 am and race to Torquay via inland roads with the support of Victoria Police.

There will be 15-20 min rolling road closures managed by Victoria Police

The Race route will take in the towns of Deans Marsh, Barwon Downs, Forrest, Yeodene, Whoorel, Bambra, Modewarre, Bells Beach and Jan Juc.

The Deans Marsh-Lorne Rd will be closed to - 

  • Lorne bound traffic between 10.30 am and 11.45 am.

  • Deans Marsh bound traffic between 10.45 am and 11.15 am.

 

Please note that emergency access will be maintained at all times.

Location

Disruption to traffic will be minimal and the Great Ocean Road will remain open after a brief 15 min hold for race start between the Deans Marsh-Lorne Road roundabout and the Lorne Visitor Information Centre.
