Within the Colac township, the creek runs through Sculpture Park and Hugh Murray Reserve, past the Lake Colac Caravan Park and into Lake Colac. Barongarook is a Gulidjan word meaning ‘running water’. Fishing is popular along the creek, with commonly caught species including carp, red fin and eel.
