Council’s Colac Customer Service Centre will temporarily relocate to the Colac Visitor Information Centre while works to replace the roof of the Rae Street Office building take place during Monday 10 February to Friday 21 February.

Council’s General Manager Infrastructure and Operations Doug McNeill said Council services would continue to be delivered, however some officers will be working from different locations.

“Customers who would normally conduct their Council business at the Rae Street office are asked to please come to the Colac Visitor Information Centre on the corner of Murray and Queen Street in Colac while works are being carried out,” Mr McNeill said.

“Council’s range of online services has grown since COVID closures occurred. Aside from cash payments or meetings, the majority of Council business can be conducted online, in writing or over the phone,” Mr McNeill said.

Lump sum rate payments are due on 15 February during the Rae Street office closure.

“For those ratepayers who elect to pay their rates in a lump sum, there are several ways to make payment. This may be online at Council’s website, through Bpay, or cheque or money order via mail.

“We understand some ratepayers wish to pay their rates in cash. Cash payments can be taken in-person by Council staff at the Visitor Information Centre while the Rae Street office is closed. Cash payments can also be made at Australia Post branches,” Mr Mc Neill said.

“We acknowledge the Rae Street office closure may be inconvenient and appreciate the patience of our community and customers while the necessary works are undertaken.”

COPACC and Colac Cinema operations will not be affected during the closure.
