Help us design a bike park for Colac

What makes a great bike park?

Council is inviting the community to help design a proposed bike park in Elliminyt, through an engagement session and survey this month.

Council has appointed bike facility experts The Trail Collective to work with the community to determine the best location for a bike park in the Colac and Elliminyt area.

The company will then develop designs and costings to ensure that Council is  ready to attract funding for the future construction of a bike facility.

The consultation will kick off with a session at Elliminyt Recreation Reserve’s playground shelter (Pirate Park) on Monday 24 February from 4 to 6pm.

General Manager Community and Economy Ian Seuren encouraged people to join the consultation session.

“We’re excited to hear your thoughts and feedback on what you would like included in the design,” Mr Seuren said.

“We’d love to hear from riders, particularly young people, on what they’re looking for from a bike park and what design features they’d like to see,” he said.

“We know there are some passionate riders in our region who have great ideas to share.

People who can’t attend the session can complete an online survey between 25 February and 7 March 2025. The survey will be available online via council’s Have Your Say page.
