Colac Otway Shire Council has approved a planning permit for a 24-hour Snap Fitness gym at the former Straight Shooters building in Murray Street east. Mayor Joe McCracken said councillors discussed the importance of seeing our central business district vibrant, busy with buildings occupied and shopfronts open for business.
“There were a number of objections to the gym proposal. The council will work to ensure the concerns raised by the community do not occur,” Cr McCracken said.
A report tabled at the Council’s Planning Committee meeting proposed the gym will employ one club manager and up to two personal trainers.
