The southern section of Binns Road, Aire Valley, will close on Tuesday for two weeks to allow for remediation of a roadside landslip.

Colac Otway Shire Council has engaged contractors Deja 8 to perform remediation works on the landslip, and the temporary road closure is necessary to ensure public safety during the works.

The closure will be in place from Tuesday 18 March to Tuesday 1 April.

The landslip works are at the Great Ocean Road end of Binns Road, a popular route from Apollo Bay to the Californian Redwoods carpark.

People wishing to access the Redwoods and nearby Otway Ranges waterfalls will need to travel via the northern section of Binns Road, from Beech Forest.

Electronic signs will be in place. Council asks motorists to follow directions and seek an alternative route.
