Candidate Information Sessions
Free candidate information sessions will be run in Colac and Online for people who are interested in standing for Council.
Following strong community interest in the recent Stand for Council information session in Colac, Colac Otway Shire Council is pleased to advise an additional free information session will be held in July for residents interested in finding out more about running for local government.
This candidate information session is organised by Colac Otway Shire Council and will be delivered by independent facilitator Jenny O'Connor.
Jenny is a former Councillor and Mayor of Indigo Shire. She is committed to supporting women and candidates from diverse backgrounds in getting elected by training them to understand what it takes to deliver an effective campaign
This session will be conducted in a positive way with the goal of attracting high quality candidates to run in the election.
Online and In Person

- In-person: Colac Otway Performing Arts and Cultural Centre (COPACC)

If you’re interested in attending, please ensure you register as a minimum number of participants will be required in order for the information session to take place.
The Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) will also be holding information sessions in-person and online for prospective candidates. Upcoming sessions in the south-west region include:
